ALERT: Trucking shortage in the USA

Posted By alex / Logistics, Transportation, USA / No comments

Dear Customers,

We are having serious shortage of truck drivers in the United States, approximately 51000 this year and expected to grow to over 100,000 by 2021. A new law started late 2017 enforces electronic logging devices that limits to 11 hours maximum of driving per day. In addition, a lot of Baby Boomers are retiring and fewer Millennials are willing to endure the hardships of this profession. This issue is affecting everyone in the supply chain, please note below MSC and Hamburg notices.

Please note that at the time of quoting and booking that we now require at least 72 hours in advance to any secure FCL loading at the shipper’s facility.
